We made brackets for my wife's and then bolted the brackets to the chrome side pieces. The bags were soft bags and we firmed them up using plastic sheets and gluing them to the insides. We then bolted the bags to the brackets which still can be removed. The bags aren't easily stolen and don't "droop". We turned the original bags into a more expensive looking set. You can probably have a local sheetmetal person bend you the brackets and trim to fit so they clear the shocks. Otherwise, bag brackets can be purchased. Also, you could check with Ghost Brackets who make a saddlebag system similar to what I made. If you can pick up a copy of Roadbike-April 03 they have a picture of them on page 108.
